Sport Climbing

Västervik is now a popular destination for climbers. The crags are made of red/grey granite, with heights ranging from 8 to 35 meters, and the quality of the rock is generally very good and reliable.

There are 16 now crags to choose from, each with varying levels of difficulty, and in total, there are over 300 routes available for climbing. We plan to add more crags to our website soon.

We have been climbing in this area since the late 1970s, and our climbing club was founded in 1983. Västerviks Climbing Club has worked closely with the municipality and the tourism industry to establish Västervik as a top climbing destination.

Our team has cleaned up climbing routes, added new anchors, and removed misplaced or old bolts. We have also developed good relationships with landowners and have created designated parking lots and paths leading to the crags.

The most popular crags are Sjöända, Rådsklippan, Dynestad and Valstadsberget.
